The first representative of the mini class in the Audi range and the company does not hide anything - this car will be used directly to deprive customers of the MINI manufactured by BMW. Audi also describes the A1 as "the first premium car in the small car sector". The car with a great style, high-quality interior, easy to personalize and small dynamic turbo engines will surely attract the lovers of luxury toys. It's great that the car hasn't changed much since the conceptual Metroproject Quattro was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007. The Audi A1 is produced with a three- or five-door hatchback body, followed by a convertible. The car uses the same platform as the Volkswagen Polo, Seat Ibiza and Škoda Fabia cars. The company emphasizes that the suspension of the new baby has been adjusted to stand out from related models in terms of sportiness. 3950 mm long, 1740 mm wide and 1420 mm high, the Audi A1 is larger in all dimensions than its main competitor MINI and is similar in size to the three-door Ford Fiesta. Distinctive features include a large radiator grille, aggressive LED lights, an eye-catching roofline, a rear diffuser, and more. Inside - a simple but high-quality panel with four air intakes reminiscent of jet engines, LED lighting. Buyers can choose from a variety of color details, such as air vents, center armrests or inserts in the center console. The engine range is dominated by turbines - both TFSI petrol and both TDI diesel units have them. The base petrol engine - 85 hp 1.2 L TFSI (5.1 l / 100 km), the most powerful 1.4 L has 120 hp and reaches 100 km / h in 9.2 seconds. Diesel engine enthusiasts will be able to choose from two 1.6 L TDI engine versions - 89 hp (3.8 l / 100 km) or 104 hp (3.9 l / 100 km). The engines will also be equipped with a continuously variable 7-speed gearbox. All Audi A1s have an automatic engine shut-off and stop system, as well as an energy recovery system to save energy released during braking.
Audi describes the A1 as "the first premium car in the small car sector".

The Audi A1 was promoted using a "viral" online video called "The Next Big Thing" starring Justin Timberlake, and it was a kind of response to the "advertising war" with BMW.

The Audi A1 is the company’s first car to have an e-catalog that can be read via Apple iPad devices. In this app you can change the colors of the car on almost every page, you can perform 3D driving simulation and other interesting actions.

The 1.4 TFSI Sport version of the Audi A1 received the 2011 award from What Car?
