We finally got the third generation Audi A8. At first glance, you can see the obvious similarities between the car and the Audi A4, which appeared a year ago. These include headlights with highlighted LEDs and very similar taillights. The overall shape and lines of the car do not introduce anything new, the car continues the traditions of Audi style, which are well known to buyers - a gracefully curved roof line, rectangular headlights, etc. The car gives a strong impression of completeness, luxury and technical progress, but it still lacks the exclusivity and solid station that, say, the 7 Series BMW has. Maybe too much resemblance to the much more modest A4 model is to blame? The interior of the car boasts a dashboard of a new style, which is more reminiscent of the style used by BMW cars - a horizontally extended and non-accentuating dashboard of buttons and equipment. In this respect, the stylistics of the A8 are slightly different from the interiors of the A4 and A6 models. The whole gives a real impression of luxury and quality: in the car you will find the Bang & Olufsen sound system, MMI navigation, night vision and pedestrian recognition functions and a whole host of other comfort and safety equipment. The A8, like its predecessor, is made of aluminum and although larger, 75mm longer and 50mm wider, it weighs the same. Audi notes that their flagship is lighter than the BMW 7 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. When delivering the car, the manufacturer offers a 4.2-liter petrol FSI V8 engine with 372 hp and 445 Nm of torque. This version reaches 100 km / h in 5.7 s and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. There is also a 4.2-liter diesel engine with 350 hp, which accelerates the car to 100 km / h even faster than a petrol engine of the same capacity - in 5.5 seconds.
