It is one of the first cars in the S-Series to feature a powerful 5-cylinder turbo engine. The Audi S6 is a luxury sports car built on the base of the Audi A6 (immediately after changing its name from the Audi 100 to the Audi A6) in a station wagon or sedan body. The S6 is largely the same Audi S4 model only with the larger A6 body. The car had a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system as standard, a 2.2 L turbo 5-cylinder engine with 230 hp (169 kW) / 5900 rpm and 326 Nm / 1950 rpm of torque. The powerful engine gave surprisingly good acceleration - up to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds, top speed 235 km / h. Great data for a large family car. After reprogramming the computer, the car easily reaches ~ 280 hp. Another engine version was available in Europe, the 4.2 L V8 with 213 kW (290 hp) and a standard automatic transmission. The S6 had disc brakes at the front and rear, measuring 276.9 mm in diameter at the front and 269.2 mm at the rear, and ABS was standard.
