Bentley Continental GT, 2003 - 2010
The Bentley Continental GT is a two-door GT class coupe, the Bentley Continental GTC is a convertible. These cars replaced the previously Rolls-Royce-based Continental R and T. The Continental GT has a 6.0L twin-turbocharged W12 engine with 552 hp (412 kW) and a top speed of 319 km / h. The Continental GT has a permanent all-wheel drive system and is built on the Volkswagen Group D1 platform like Volkswagen’s flagship Phaeton. Even more powerful versions of the Continental GT are available - GT Speed and Supersports. The latter can be powered not only by gasoline, but also by biofuel - E85 ethanol. This version develops 630 hp (463 kW) / 6000 rpm and 800 Nm / 1700-5600 rpm of torque, accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, 0-160 km / h at 8.9 seconds and maximum the speed is 329 km / h. It is the fastest and most powerful Bentley ever developed. In 2007, a Bentley Continental GT Speed car driven four times by WRC Rally Champion Juha Kankkunen broke the world speed record on ice on the frozen Baltic Sea near Finland. The car reached a top speed of 331 km / h and broke the previous speed record of 296 km / h that was achieved with the Bugatti EB110 Supersport.
