This car is designed to compete with the Audi A5 Sportback and Volkswagen Passat CC models. The attractive, sleek design of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe looks complete, very precise and attractive, but the car may lack a bit of expressiveness. Seen from the rear, the less experienced eye may not be able to distinguish the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe from the usual BMW 3 Series. We can't say such criticism to our bigger brother, the 6 Series Gran Coupe, which will not be confused with any other BMW. The front and rear of the 4 Series Gran Coupe are the same as in the 4 Series Coupé, but look very natural and fit well into the sedan / hatchback silhouette. Inside, the car has the same interior as the two-brother - the devices are arranged logically, the design - laconic. The new Gran Coupe has a 4 + 1 seating plan. This means that as long as four passengers (including the driver) enjoy the comfort, the fifth will remain just an “outsider” sitting in the middle on the rear seats. For longer journeys, the large luggage compartment will be useful - as much as 480 liters is the same as in the 3 Series sedan and more than the nearest competitor Audi A5 Sportback. Another nice observation - the extra 50 kg that contributed compared to a simple 4 Series coupe is not felt on the road at all - both cars are operated identically. Car buyers will also be able to choose from five different engines that feature high power and efficiency. The most powerful unit has a 3-liter six-cylinder petrol engine BMW 435i with 306 hp. Meanwhile, the four-cylinder petrol engines BMW 428i and BMW 420i have 235 hp and 184 hp, respectively, and attractive fuel consumption of 6.6 l / 100 km and 6.4 l / 100 km. The most economical are the diesel variants: the BMW 420d, which generates 184 hp and consumes just 4.7 liters of fuel on average per 100 km, and the BMW 418d, which produces a fairly modest 143 hp, but average fuel consumption is reduced to 4.5 l / 100 km.
