BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, 2021 - present
Here is the new five-door BMW in the fourth series. BMW designers have decided to give the sporty BMW line a distinctive design feature - the most important design highlight of course is the huge radiator grille on the front similar to the conceptual model. If the front of the car doesn’t leave anyone indifferent and gets mostly mild and less mild criticism, then the rest of the quarter’s design is really great especially the rear end. The roof line is no longer so sloping, giving passengers more space inside. Overall, it looks like the 4 Series Gran Coupe is no longer a niche model, but a sporty and practical everyday car. While the BMW 3 Series has grown in all directions and becomes a solid mid-range sedan that can easily match the previous BMW 5 Series. There are no "controversies" inside as there are outside - here we see the same rather conservative dashboard as the third series BMW. The driver-oriented front panel, made of quality materials, has logically arranged and easy-to-understand controls. The instrument panel no longer has the traditional round BMW dials, instead we see a configuration similar to the one used by Peugeot where the turn arrow moves in the opposite direction - it will take some time to get used to. This was done to place navigation readings between the two main dials. The BMW Infosystem can be operated in a variety of ways, from by turning or touching the wheel in the center console, via the touch screen, as well as by voice and gestures. The car’s chassis is 23mm wider, 57mm lower and has a slightly lower center of gravity than the third-series BMW. Underneath the hood are standard-liter engines - 2-liter four-cylinder or 3-liter six-cylinder petrol turbo engines with power ranging from 184 to 374 hp. Also 2-liter four-cylinder or 3-liter six-cylinder diesel engines. All engines are only compatible with 8-speed automatic transmissions. The most powerful version of the M440i generates 500 Nm of torque and accelerates to 100 km / h in just 4.5 seconds. And after all, this is the territory of Porsche and Ferrari.
