Citroen DS5, 2011 - 2018

The Citroen DS5 is already the third model in the more luxurious DS Citroen family and seems to be struggling with the acclaimed Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series cars. First of all, a few words about the design: thanks to the unique hatchback / wagon-style blend, the DS5 is unlike any other car. Lots of chrome body trim, extra-narrow side windows, and a great distinctive Citroen style deserve praise and will surely attract the attention of passers-by. Inside, the car is also not disappointing - chrome, leather, high-quality plastic, great design, well-supported seats and a glass roof. Everything was done flawlessly and with attention to detail. True, adult passengers sitting in the rear seats may run out of headroom. Under the hood, Citroen will offer its innovation - the Hybrid4 power plant. It is a union of a 2.0-liter 163 hp diesel and a 37 hp electric engine that works slightly differently than other hybrid cars. The diesel engine gives full power to the front wheels and the electric motor mounted on the rear axle to the rear axles. The motors can operate separately or both together to form a system of all four drive wheels. By the way, electric motor batteries mounted under the boot lid reduce the boot volume from 465 to 325 liters. Other engines include a 1.6-liter diesel with 109 hp and a non-hybrid 2.0 Hdi. The two 1.6-liter petrol engines have 153 hp and 197 turbine engines, respectively. All variants come with a suspension that is a little stiffer than one would expect from a French car, but that’s not annoying. By the way, the noise emanating from the outside is perfectly suppressed.
