The upgraded Viper features an 8.4 L V10 600 hp (90 hp more) engine with 759 Nm of torque. The engine underwent many changes - it was developed in collaboration with McLaren Automotive. The changes outside the engine were less extreme, but still noticeable. The Tremec T56 transmission has been replaced by the new Tremec TR6060, which now has triple first-gear synchronizers and double higher gears. Track switching is 18% faster than the 2006-2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The new Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires have increased traction and feedback. This combined with the improved suspension made the Viper more neutral in corners. Another change is a redesign of the exhaust system, which results in a reduction in the heat that enters the cabin and the exhaust acquires a rich tone. Car and Driver magazine tested the new Viper. The result is 0-100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, a quarter mile in 11.5 seconds and a speed of 203 km / h. The car was also tested on the Virginia International Raceway ring, where it was faster than the Corvette Z06, Ford GT, Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 GT3 and Audi R8. According to Car and Driver and Motor Trend magazines, the car's improved suspension and new differential provided sharpness, better cornering control and better feedback.
