Ferrari 812 Superfast, 2017 - present
The new Ferrari “heavyweight” Ferrari 812 Superfast. We all understand what Superfast means, and what the 812 means is also easy to understand: in a cooker it won't be the engine's displacement, it's just power left. And indeed, under a long bonnet, this Ferrari hides a new 6.5-liter V12 atmospheric engine with a displacement of 0.2 liters higher than its predecessor, the F12 and LaFerrari. The powertrain generates 800 hp and 718 Nm of power, which is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with ultra-fast gearshifting like never before. This engine, at least in 2018, was the most powerful serial atmospheric engine in the world. Just think - almost the power of the legendary Bugatti Veyron, and after all, this one even had four turbochargers! True, it sounds both impressive and at the same time conservative. And the really huge V12 front-mounted engine without turbines driving only the rear wheels sounds very old-fashioned. However, the company will continue to adhere to this composition in the major GT-class Ferrari, as it is a Ferrari classic. Says the classic never dies. True, the technical data of the Ferrari 812 Superfast doesn't really give up on naphthalene - four-wheel drive, fantastic brakes, electric power steering (for the first time in a Ferrari car), this Ferrari reaches a speed of 100 km / h in just 2.9 seconds and can accelerate to a maximum of 340 km / h. Really really fast car. From the outside, the car looks impressive - many sharp and at the same time elegant lines intertwine with each other, creating a rather harmonious result. And yet, the design is too similar to its predecessor and has no new ideas that Ferrari usually always comes up with. Even the four taillights don’t seem to be organically integrated - rather, we get a link to the legendary Ferrari Daytona model. But it’s more of a lack of ideas than a great flashback from the past. The interior is also conservative, very similar to the predecessor of the F12 - here we do not see large LCD screens or other innovations typical of modern cars. It is dominated by round air intakes and buttons, bright engine speed readings, numerous levers, plenty of leather, carbon fiber, and more. Literally a typical Ferrari - designed to amaze and fascinate.
