Ferrari Enzo, 2003 - 2004
An extraordinary car. The Enzo Ferrari is a 12-cylinder supercar with a center-mounted engine named in honor of Ferrari company founder Enzo Ferrari. It is one of the most powerful cars in the world with an atmospheric engine. Enzo was developed using 2003 F1 car technology: such as carbon fiber body, F1-style gearbox, carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide (C / SiC) ceramic brake discs. Technologies that are banned in F1 cars, such as active aerodynamics and traction control, have also been used. The Enzo engine is the first new generation Ferrari V12 engine. It is based on the architecture of a V8 engine mounted on a Maserati Quattroporte. This new design is used in the following Ferrari models with V8 and V12 engines, such as the F430. A total of 400 Enzo units were produced. The car is on the list of the best sports cars of all time, currently the fourth fastest to beat the famous Nordschleife ring in Germany (in 7: 25.21 seconds). The weight distribution of Enzo is 43.9% / 56.1% front / rear. The engine is an F140 65 ° V12 DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder and a variable valve control system. Displacement 5998 cc, power 485 kW (660 hp) / 7800 rpm and 657 Nm / 5500 rpm torque. The red speed zone starts only at 8200 rpm. The Enzo can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 3.6 s (0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.14 seconds), reach 100 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of approximately 368 kilometers per hour! Despite Enzo’s extraordinary data and price, the lowest-end Ferrari 430 Scuderia (an improved version of the Ferrari 430) with a V8 engine can show fairly similar track times.
