The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a two-seater GT-Class coupe that was replaced in 2006 by the 599 GTB model. It is a massive car with a large V12 5.5 L engine mounted on the front of the car (later the engine volume was increased to 5.7 L). The car was shared with this engine with the Ferrari 456 four-seater model. Engine specifications: 5474 cc with 361 kW (485 hp) / 7000 rpm and 568 Nm / 5000 rpm torque. The name Maranello means the city where the Ferrari headquarters are located. The 550 Maranello had a luxurious, spacious interior, and at the rear a wide, long trunk and could hold a full golf bag. Later, a 550 upgrade was introduced called the 575 with improved engine, interior, larger brakes, different weight distribution, new suspension alignment. In addition to the traditional six-speed manual transmission, for the first time Ferrari with a V12 engine received an F1-type semi-automatic transmission. In 2005, the 575 M model was upgraded again, increasing power from 515 hp (379 kW) to 540 hp (397 kW). Vehicle data: acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds, maximum speed 327 km / h.
For the first time in this 12-cylinder model, Ferrari has installed a semi-automatic F1-style gearbox control in this car.
 
In 2000 and 2001, the 5.5 L V12 engine won the International Engine of the Year award in the over 4 liter displacement category.
 
The name Maranello means the city where the Ferrari headquarters are located.
