The next-generation Focus uses the Ford C1 platform, which it shares with the Volvo S40, V50, C70, Mazda3 and Focus C-Max. The new Focus Mk 2 is much larger than its predecessor - 25 mm larger base, 168 mm longer, 8 mm higher and 138 mm wider. As a result, interior and luggage space has increased. Stylistically, the Mk 2 is very similar to the new Mondeo and Fiesta, although it has remained the same recognizable focus. The interior and dashboard continue the style of the Mk 2 Mondeo and are now much higher quality than before. The car has even better handling, ride quality and is rated as the owner of the best chassis in its class. While critics acknowledge that the BMW 1 Series is a bit better managed and the new Volkswagen Golf is more enjoyable to drive, the Focus koger offers the best compromise between these features. There has also been criticism that the car has lost the sharpness of the old Focus design, and the interior, although significantly improved, still cannot match the Mk 5 Volkswagen Golf model. In 2005, Ford introduced the hot version of the Focus ST with a great T5 engine taken from the Volvo S40 / V50 T5 models, this turbo 2.5 L 5-cylinder engine has 225 hp and amazing sound!
