Introduced in 2005, the eighth-generation Honda Civic has a completely new futuristic design with a 3- or 5-door hatchback, a coupe body and a slightly more solid-designed 4-door sedan. This sedan stands out with its rather dynamic front design, rear with Acura-type taillights and spacious passenger compartment. The interior is similar to a hatchback - the front two-stage panel glows in beautiful bluish colors and is made of high-quality materials typical of higher-end cars. The Civic has ample space inside and in the trunk - larger than any car in its class. It’s a really practical sedan. The new Civic uses a sportier and more comfortable rear suspension than the hatchback versions. The engines are 1.8 and 2.0 liter petrol, but there are also some more interesting variants - hybrid and Type-R. The hybrid model has a 1.4-liter gasoline engine combined with an electric one. It is one of the most advanced and one of the first such engines in the world. Another interesting model is the first four JDM Civic Type-Rs made for the Japanese market. It’s a larger, wider and heavier Civic, but thanks to a much longer base, the car is more stable at high speeds. The car uses widely used aluminum and the engine is more powerful than the European Type-R hatchback version - 222 hp (165 kW) / 8400 rpm and 215 Nm / 6100 rpm torque.
This is the first Civic Type-R produced in a sedan body.

The Civic Type-R was the official 2006 F1 Japanese Gand Prix car.
