The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a rear-wheel drive sports car. It is Hyundai’s first rear-wheel drive coupe and shares its platform with the luxurious Hyundai Genesis sedan. Hyundai U.S. Branch President John Krafcik describes the Genesis Coupe as a car designed "to provide the driving pleasure provided by cars such as the Infiniti G37." Hyundai emphasizes that the Genesis Coupe does not replace the Tiburon model, but is a completely new line model with two engines, the main engine being a 2.0 L turbo 4-cylinder with 210 hp (160 kW) and 302 Nm of torque, the most powerful being 3.8 L With 306 hp (228 kW) and 361 Nm of torque, the V6 accelerates to 100 km / h in less than 6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km / h.
The Genesis Coupe has been used in several racing series, such as the Formula Drift Professional drift championship or the famous Pikes Peak race. In the last race in 2009, racer Rhys Millen set a new record in the two-wheel-drive, standard car category.
