The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is built on the Mercedes-Benz ML base, which is well known to us Europeans. The lines of the new SUV's body really didn't blow any new winds - here the classic Jeep style is combined with modernity. The now noticeable are the altered front radiator grille and the front and fog lights, which look a little too small for such a large car and provide a kind of threat. The Cherokee is not only more aerodynamically efficient, but also 146% stiffer compared to its predecessor. Thanks to the increased wheelbase of the new generation SUV, an additional 13 cm of space has been created for the rear passengers. At the same time, it is possible to open the door more widely and thus place items in the car cabin more conveniently. Inside the new Jeep, it will be greeted by higher-quality trim materials and an improved yet restrained-style instrument panel. While the silver-colored plastic in the center console looks obviously cheap for a car of this class, the remaining changes are commendable. Comfort enthusiasts will be able to choose from a heated steering wheel, ventilated front and rear seats, a keyless ignition system and a rear view camera. Two engines have been introduced to the North American market: a 3.6 L Pentastar V6 engine with 280 hp and 353 Nm of torque. For those who like even more power, the 5.7 L HEMI V8 with 360 hp and 520 Nm is perfect. The 3-liter turbodiesel V6 engine (with Multijet II injection system) with 241 hp and excellent 550 Nm of torque is also available on the European market. A powerful version of the SRT-8 is also expected to be available. Off-road performance should also not be disappointing - the manufacturer offers a system that allows you to select one of five driving modes: Sand / Mud, Sport, Auto, Snow and Rock. The Quadra-Lift hydraulic system raises or lowers the SUV's body depending on the road surface.
