When we say “powerful sedan”, we immediately think of the M-Series BMW or the Audi RS6or the Audi S4. Maybe we will also accept Alfa-Romeo Giula, a company with a long sports tradition. But will we accept Kia into this company? Another year ago the answer would be clear, but times are changing and here we have a Kia Stinger with a 3.3 liter V6 twin turbine engine with 272 kW of torque, 510 Nm of torque and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds. Solid. The Kia Stinger is designed to surprise and it will surprise. The car has an expressive design with an overemphasis on sporty details such as huge air intakes that are fitted wherever possible. Stinger design seems to lack integrity, completeness, but that is exactly the idea of the creators. The car must be noticeable when entering new areas. This is a car that needs to change people’s perception of the Kia brand. That this company is capable of this has been demonstrated by the Sportage, Niro and Sorrento SUVs, we acknowledge. Inside, the Stinger is particularly reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with three air vents in the center and an 8.0-inch LCD screen protruding above them, as well as the Harman-Kardon sound system (the speaker grille is almost identical to Mercedes, by the way). And while the sophistication of the Mercedes interior doesn’t match Kia’s, coger buyers will enjoy that resemblance. The Kia Stinger is available with rear and all-wheel drive versions. On the road, it feels like it’s not a race car, but it’s a very practical, and extremely powerful sporty sedan. For drivers who like to feel the pleasure of acceleration but don’t count G overloads in turns, this car will be a great choice.
