Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, 2011 - 2011
The Italian name "Sesto Elemento" does not need to be translated into Lithuanian, it means "sixth element". But why the car is so named needs to be explained - the sixth element in the periodic table of elements is carbon. It is now becoming clear that the car is made of carbon fiber. The monocoque, body, front shock-absorbing structure, even suspension, steering, exhaust system and even wheels are made of carbon fiber, and the whole car weighs just 999 kg and that’s just a little more than the tiny Fiat 500! It should not be forgotten that most of this weight consists of a large 5.2-liter V10 engine borrowed from Gallardo and generating 578 hp (425 kW) of power and 540 Nm of torque. This combination of high power and ultra low weight provides an unprecedented weight to power ratio of just 0.57 hp / kg (or 1.75 kg / hp). Lamborghini says the car reaches 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds on a Formula 1 car. The interior of the Sixth Element is simply bare. There’s almost nothing here, even the seats are just padding glued to a carbon fiber monocoque. We know that in the supercar market, the price of a car is higher the less equipment it has and the more exotic materials used. So it’s no surprise that each of the 20 Sixth Elements produced costs between $ 2.2 million and $ 2.9 million. And we know that this price will rise sharply in the future.
