The Murciélago is a great two-door, two-seater sports car introduced in 2001 and replacing the Diablo model. The name Murciélago means "bat" in Spanish. The bull of the corridor named after him survived as many as 24 sword stabs in the battle of 1879. He struggled with such passion that the matador decided to save him a life - a rare honor for a fighting bull. The bull was later donated to Don Antonio Miura, the owner of a ranch called Miura (another Lamborghini car is also named after this). The Murciélago has a 6.2-liter Lamborghini V12 engine with a six-speed manual or 6-speed sequential automatic transmission and is powered by all four wheels. The car has a rear spoiler that can be raised at a 70-degree angle, side-view mirrors that fold down to improve aerodynamics and side air traps that automatically unfold as much air as needed to cool the engine. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), Murciélago consumes 29 L / 100 km and the highway 18 L / 100 km, making it the heaviest car in 2008. In 2006, the Murciélago’s engine was changed to a more powerful 6.5-liter unit, and the car’s name was changed to the Murciélago LP640. In 2007, a roadster version also received this engine. This 6.5-liter engine develops an impressive 640 hp (471 kW). Both versions have been slightly updated. The car got enlarged air intakes, the body was made of steel and carbon fiber, the suspension was improved. The Murciélago all-wheel drive system normally transmits 70% of the torque to the rear wheels, but can deliver up to 100% to the rear or up to 70% to the front axle, depending on the level of traction. Great car with great technical characteristics.
This is the first car developed by the company since it was bought by the Audi Group.
