McLaren Speedtail, 2019 - 2019
Usually we try to categorize all cars - sports, GT class, supercar and so on. However, the McLaren Speedtail is an unusual car and it is simply impossible to plug it into existing frames. This impressive 5137 mm long hypercar reaches 403 km / h. speed is the fastest McLaren car ever made, but it’s not a sports car for racing, it’s also not a comfortable sporty cruiser, nor is it the most beautiful or aggressive looking. It's just different - it's like the USS Enterprise spacecraft from Star Trek - futuristic, fast, exclusive and insanely expensive. Not surprisingly, in 2019, the McLaren Speedtail was tested at the Kennedy Space Flight Center on a 4.5-mile runway once landed by Space Shuttle spacecraft. Here, the McLaren track reached a maximum of 403 km / h more than 30 times. speed. Such an impressive speed is achieved by a 4.0-liter V8 engine with an additional electrical system. This hybrid power plant develops 1035 hp (772 kW) and is enough to keep the Speedtail up to 300 km / h. accelerate in less than 13 seconds. By comparison, the McLaren P1 supercar achieves the same speed in 16.5 seconds, and the Bugatti Chiron with a monstrous 7.6-liter W16 four-turbine engine at 300 km / h. reaches speed in 13.6 seconds. The car is interesting not only in terms of numbers achieved or impressive lines, but also in some engineering solutions such as the camera instead of side mirrors or rear-mounted spoilers that are more similar to the ailerons used in aircraft. The variable shape aerodynamics is nothing new in today’s sports cars, but the interesting thing is that McLaren ailerons are not made as individual parts, but seamlessly from the same carbon fiber plate that makes up the entire rear of the car. Looking at it, you’ll see that there’s no seam between the aileron and the body - McLaren has come up with a way to turn this component into a common body part and thus maintain an incredibly seamless car design with beautiful lines. Inside, the car impresses with an equally interesting and beautiful interior, the main idea of which is three seats with a driver’s seat mounted in the center of the car - like in the iconic McLaren F1 supercar of the nineties. All three Speedtail passengers will feel truly exceptional. Large LCD screens at the front, a semi-transparent roof, carbon-tight cramped futuristic seats, a long car cabin narrowing to the rear and tremendous speed - it will definitely be easy for passengers to forget that they are just sitting in the car. Only 106 units of these "spacecraft" will cost $ 2 million each. Of course, only the "chosen ones" of this world will receive them, and not only will we not have a McLaren Speedtail, but we probably won't even see them.
