Mercedes-Benz GLE Class, 2019 - present
Mercedes has always been more or less conservative, and SUVs have been the most conservative. This new Mercedes-Benz GLE class SUV is no exception. The shape of the car remained the same as its predecessor, although the predecessor was not the most attractive SUV in its segment. Still, the new GLE looks fresh and sympathetic - the large radiator grille on the front gives the much-needed SUVs, the new-shaped taillights give it playfulness and the huge wheels and silhouette give it sportiness. It may not seem, but the Mercedes-Benz GLE has an excellent air resistance coefficient, which is also achieved by closing the radiator grille. The last letter of the model name suggests that this SUV is related to the E-Class sedan. Therefore, in the interior we meet a very similar design and a similar level of quality front panel with a large screen in the center. Below it are accentuated by four air vents, which have become rectangular in the SUV. Mercedes allows you to enjoy a quality accentuated by the abundant use of wood inserts and of course leather. Overall, Mercedes interiors have been highly praised lately and this is a big advantage of this SUV. For the first time, models with six- and eight-cylinder engines and a hybrid mains-powered car use the fully adjustable all-wheel drive Torque on Demand (TonD), which distributes torque from 0 to 100 percent between the front and rear axles, depending on the selected driving mode. . TonD, together with an optional off-road package with deceleration and acceleration gears, gives the GLE unprecedented off-road capabilities. The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC is the first six-cylinder petrol model to use 48-volt electric technology. The specifications of this engine are 270 kW (367 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, which can be used to increase the EQ Boost by a further 250 Nm and 16 kW / 22 hp. The integrated starter-generator (ISG) performs hybrid functions such as EQ Boost or energy recovery, as well as fuel economy and will be used in emerging hybrid technologies.
