Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, 2022 - present
Here is the large electric Mercedes-Benz SUV EQS SUV - it is a seven-seater version of the German manufacturer's EQS sedan. Like the EQS sedan, this SUV is built on the EVA2 electric vehicle platform and shares its powerplants, battery systems and other technologies with the EQS limousine. The new electric SUV has the same long wheelbase as the EQS sedan, which reaches 3,210 mm, but is more than 20 cm higher. Introduced last year, the EQS sedan remains the aerodynamics champion of production cars. It is according to the design philosophy of this sedan that the sleek appearance of the electric SUV is created. A unique combination of spaciousness and aerodynamic efficiency has been obtained by optimizing typical SUV air flow control elements. Air suspension with adaptive damping is also standard equipment. All versions of the EQS SUV have a 107.8 kWh battery. The weakest version of the 450+ has an electric motor with a power of 355 hp and a torque of 568 Nm. This Mercedes has to cover a distance of 660 km. The most powerful version is the EQS 580+ 4MATIC. It has a power plant of 536 hp and 858 Nm and an all-wheel drive system. This SUV reaches 100 km/h in a sports car-like 4.5 seconds and has a maximum range of 610 km. Interestingly, in 4MATIC models, the power sent to the electric drive is adjustable in 10 thousand steps. times per minute - thus ensuring not only greater efficiency, but also dynamism. All versions have a 200 kW fast charging option, which means that charging from 10 to 80 percent of the battery takes just 30 minutes. As standard, the car also has 11 kW AC three-phase charging. All EQS SUVs feature a four-wheel steering system that allows the rear wheels to turn as much as 4.5 degrees. This provides greater maneuverability at low speeds, a tighter turning radius, and improved cornering stability at high speeds. The EQS sedan was the first production model from Mercedes-Benz to be able to install new car functions remotely. In the SUV EQS SUV, these possibilities are expanded even further. In the standard SUV model, the second row of seats is electrically adjustable, and an optional third row of seats with two additional individual seats is offered. The trunk volume without the third row of seats reaches 880 liters.
