Mercedes-Benz E Class, 2016 - 2023
The E-Class Mercedes has always been the company’s most important model, so a new generation was expected with great impatience. The newcomer shares an almost identical design with the smaller C-Class Mercedes, and has a resemblance to the flagship S-Class. We think this is a rather risky decision as this is how this crucial and solid model starts to be associated with the smaller C-Class model. On the other hand, the design itself is perfectly coordinated, harmonious, radiating with confidence and completeness. Maybe only the rear part of the station wagon falls out of context a bit. Well, and the interior deserved only the best ratings. The quality of materials, design, style, attention to detail and two huge 12.3-inch LCD screens are simply stunning even for those who have seen everything. In those interior areas where savings have been made in the C-Class Mercedes, this has been compared to the S-Class flagship and here we see only the best quality finish. In terms of interiors, Mercedes is well ahead of the somewhat outdated BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, as well as the all-new Jaguar XF. The true information system is controlled by a lever on the transmission tunnel which is not as convenient as operating the systems by touching the screen. Thanks to the 6.5 cm longer wheelbase, rear passengers are given even more space, and the 540-liter boot is the largest in the class. It’s not the sportiest car in its class, but comfort, cabin silence is at the highest level. The company is convinced that comfort, not sportiness, will be an essential criterion in the list of desired car features. The new 2.0-liter 192 hp and 400 Nm ultra-quiet diesel engines, which are also very dynamic, will need to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.3 seconds. Compared to its predecessor, the new E-Class has become approximately 100 kg lighter, mainly due to the use of aluminum in the body elements. Although the E-Class Mercedes is more expensive than any of its direct competitors, the base version of the Mercedes has more equipment than the competitors. So we meet a new class leader and wait to see what others will answer.
