While the new Mercedes-Benz GL model looks like an upgrade to the old model, it is actually a brand new car. Obviously, minor design updates say that for a conservative buyer of this Mercedes (mostly in North America or the Middle East), the look of the car is not the most important criterion when choosing a new purchase. This SUV is focused on huge interior space, comfort, quality and sophistication. The new model, having reached impressive dimensions (5141 mm long, 1982 mm wide, 1850 mm high), has become larger than its competitors Land Rover Range Rover or Audi Q7. The cab design looks attractive and high quality, although not as modern as the new Mercedes models. Mercedes-Benz GL offers two engines - a 3.0-liter V6 diesel GL350 and a two-turbine 5.5-liter V8 petrol "monster" GL63 AMG. The latter has incredible dynamics as a car of this size and weight (2580 kg) - it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds. The GL350 CDI is also not slow - it accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds. The GL model now has an excellent Airmatic suspension system as standard, making the huge SUV not only extremely comfortable, but also unusually stable in corners. The steering works smoothly and predictably, but even the AMG model is not a sports car - this should not be forgotten. The new Mercedes-Benz GL has seven seats as standard, but even with all the seats folded down, it has a 300-liter boot. By folding the seats of the last two rows, it is possible to extract the trunk space of almost a commercial car - 2300 liters.
