Many Mercedes-Benz cars are legendary, iconic, memorable and in every way adored. However, the rare model was better known than this Mercedes-Benz R107 / C107 model. And not surprisingly, the car was manufactured for two decades from 1971 to 1989. This is the second longest-running Mercedes-Benz model in history - only the almost unchanged G-Class SUV has been produced for longer. With this SL coupe / convertible, a whole generation, and maybe even several generations of car enthusiasts, have grown up. It was visible everywhere - on the streets, in movies, in advertisements, it was like a typical thing for those who wanted to show their status, it was like an "I succeeded" car. In reality, the car was not particularly sporty or powerful. The most powerful 500SL version had a 5.0L engine with 240 hp and 406 Nm of torque at 3200 rpm. The heavy-duty car had an incredibly impressive acceleration, reaching 60 miles per hour in 7.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of just 225 km / h. However, the SL was characterized by an extremely comfortable, luxurious and beautifully designed interior with a wide range of colors, a comfortable suspension and an extremely elegant body. Interestingly, the 450 SLC 5.0 version was produced in 1977 as a homologation car for the 1978 World Rally Championship. This version had a new aluminum five-liter V8 engine, an aluminum engine and boot lid, and a black rubber rear spoiler, a typical attribute of sportiness at the time.
