The mission of the Peugeot 208 is truly extraordinary - it must continue the tradition of its highly successful predecessors, the 205, 206 and 207. It is a highly competitive class in Europe and the struggle for space in it is extremely fierce. Still, the Peugeot 208 has a lot to offer - first of all, we notice the fresh and eye-pleasing design of the car, but also the recognizable silhouette of Peugeot. The body features a host of expressive lines and interesting details, all designed to give a sense of surprise. In its stylistics, the car is similar to the works of the Toyota company. True, this style has been loved by many companies that are successfully demonstrating it in their new models. The interior of the Peugeot 208 also kindly invites you to sit down and take a small leather steering wheel in your hands - the instrument panel is raised, looks very aesthetically pleasing, maybe the instrument layout is not very comfortable (the driver's position is too high and the upper edge of the steering wheel obscures the instrument readings) ), but the quality of the interior materials is very pleasant. Underneath the hood are really economical engines, including the sufficiently dynamic 1.2 VTi 3-cylinder petrol turbo engines. The 1.6-liter 92 hp diesel engine also deserves praise for its power and good economy. But the good impression is somewhat dampened by the sluggish 5-speed manual gearbox. The City 208 feels much more maneuverable than its predecessor, the 207, thanks to its much lower weight (the new model weighs as much as 100 kg less) and although the suspension still releases large road bumps into the cabin, the car can be described as comfortable enough for everyday use. The luggage compartment has increased by 15 liters compared to the Peugeot 207 - to 285. The car is spacious enough even in the rear seats - which can neither be criticized nor highly praised compared to its competitors. So, the Peugeot 208 is set to push ahead with market leaders in VW Polo or Ford Fiesta cars.
The Peugeot 208 was named Car of the Year at the 36th Continental Irish Car of the Year.
