"An apple rolled down from a tree nearby" is the first thought that comes with seeing the new Porsche Cayenne. Has the car really changed very little, or really little? Yes, the Porsche company is conservative, but when as many as three-quarters of a million such expensive cars are sold, that’s why risking customer loyalty. Indeed, the new car has changed dramatically, becoming 9mm lower, 63mm longer and 23mm wider. Despite the growth of the SUV, the Cayenne is lighter than its predecessor. This relates to aluminum structures that are used to make both the body and the frame. The manufacturer claims that the lower roof does not affect the space provided for passengers. The body has become a bit more athletic, with more pronounced rear wheel arches, and at the rear we see elongated headlights somewhat similar to the updated 911 - this is the only characteristic feature of the car. Overall, the car looks like an athlete has lost a few unnecessary pounds and gained some muscle mass, but basically hasn’t changed much. The base Porsche Cayenne is equipped with a single-turbine 3.0L V6 engine borrowed from Volkswagen Audi Group. This rather modest engine achieves 250 kW (340 hp) and 450 Nm of torque and up to 100 km / h. accelerates in 6.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 245 km / h. The third-generation Cayenne Turbo also has a much more robust V8 engine with two turbochargers and achieves 404 kW (550 hp) and 770 Nm of torque. The Turbo version also has active aerodynamic elements. Its roof rack changes position depending on the position of the accelerator and brake pedals. When accelerating or driving at the same speed, the roof trim increases the clamping force at the rear and acts as an additional aerodynamic brake during heavy braking. Each Cayenne can be equipped with a three-chamber air suspension controlled by Porsche 4D Chassis Control and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC). They automatically change the ground clearance of the car depending on the selected driving mode and speed. In the interior, the car no longer has a "fiesta" of buttons, which until recently was so admired by the Porsche company. The design of the front panel is much cleaner where the emphasis is on the large LCD screen and the classic mechanical clock. Still, the producers are to blame here - Cayenne's interior is more than modest, and although people say that modesty adorns it, it is certainly not an advantage for "supervisors". Let's not forget that a number of exciting new SUVs have recently been introduced to the Cayenne area - Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Maserati Levante, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Range Rover Velar, and where the ultra-luxury Audi Q8 and BMW X7.
