Renault stands out from other competitors with its extremely rich monovolume history. It was one of the pioneers of this class to launch the innovative Espace seven-seater monovolume 30 years ago. However, the smaller Scenic and Grand Scenic models have been even more successful, as they perfectly combine the versatility of a five- or seven-seater with the compactness of a hatchback. The new Grand Scenic isn’t a very distinctive car, but its strengths lie in the cabin. Here you will find really plenty of space for passengers in the first two rows of seats and a compact third row. The impression of a family car is enhanced by a rear-view mirror for middle-row passengers to monitor children in the third row. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 208 liters, and when you fold all the seats, you get a capacity of 2063 liters. The manufacturer claims that the Grand Scenic has as many as 40 different trays. The instrument panel is typical of the Renault style, is high quality and well assembled. Maybe a bright digital dial in the center spoils a bit of a quiet style. Although the car is not very exciting on the road, the steering works exactly, the car follows the given trajectory well, so there is a strong sense of security. The Grand Scenic is really great for long trips.
