The Rolls-Royce Ghost is smaller and cheaper than the Phantom model and is designed to compete with slightly cheaper luxury sedans such as the Maserati Quattroporte or Bentley Continental Flying Spur. The Ghost name is intended to honor the old Ghost model manufactured in 1906. This car, unlike the Phantom, is designed more for the driver than the passenger. 20% of the new Ghost components including electronics, several chassis units are common to the new BMW 7 Series. However, the Rolls-Royce chassis base, width, car height, and other dimensions are individual. The car’s engine is a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 unit with 571 hp (426 kW) and an 8-speed automatic transmission. This pair allows the car to accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds. Unlike the aluminum Phantom, the Ghost is made of steel. The car's aluminum multi-link suspension uses a clever system that allows you to individually adjust all parameters of all four wheels. Therefore, Ghost can separate the rear passenger seat transfer to the other side and adjust the suspension settings accordingly.
20% of the new Ghost components including electronics, several chassis units are shared with the BMW 7 Series.
