Skoda Fabia, 2021 - present
The fourth generation Škoda Fabia is manufactured on the modular MQB-A0 platform. This is the Volkswagen Group's universal platform, which is currently used in the production of other compact Škoda cars such as the Scala and Kamiq. Thanks to the new platform, the dimensions of the hatchback are significantly higher than its predecessor. Now the wheelbase is even 94mm longer, the length has been increased by a total of 115mm and the width has been increased by 50mm, while the height has been reduced by 7mm. Thanks to the larger dimensions of the Škoda Fabia and other design solutions, the designers have increased not only the cabin but also the luggage compartment, which is now 380 l - even 50 l more than before. The Škoda Fabia has become much more aerodynamic, reducing the drag coefficient from 0.32 to 0.28. Škoda says this is the best result in the small car segment. Inside, as usual, there are no complaints about the quality of the collection, but the highest quality materials are not worth it here. However, in a much more attractive panel, a playful fabric gap is possible, giving the modest interior vitality. In addition, the car offers an impressive panoramic sunroof - it’s hard to remember if any of the other B-segment cars have the same choice. Interestingly, the Fabia, like the Octavia Scout, has increased the passability of the Rough-Road package with cool springs, bottom protection and more ground clearance. However, versions with all-wheel drive are not available. The engine range includes 65 to 110 hp three-cylinder TSI turbocharged engines, the most powerful of which can be equipped with an automatic DSG transmission. The cheapest version offers an MPI 80 hp engine. For a relatively light car (1165 kg) with the most powerful engine in the city, the dynamics will suffice - from 0 to 100 km / h the car accelerates in 9.5 s, and the maximum speed reaches even 205 km / h.
