The Subaru Forester is a small all-wheel drive station wagon using the Impreza platform, but has larger 2.5-liter horizontal four-cylinder engines from the Outback with 165 hp (123 kW) / 5600 rpm and 220 Nm / 4000 rpm of torque. In terms of size and price, the Forester intersects between the smaller Impreza and the larger Legacy. The car was targeted at the SUV / crossover market even when these terms were not even used. It combines the off-road features of an SUV with the handling characteristics of a passenger car. The automatic AWD transmission normally transmits 90% of the torque to the front wheels and 10% to the rear wheels. If the front wheels start to lose traction, the system automatically applies more force to the rear wheels and divides the torque by a ratio of 50-50. When accelerating or driving uphill, the transmission transmits torque back to the rear wheels. When braking or driving downhill, the weight of the vehicle shifts forward, so the torque is transmitted to the front wheels so that control of the vehicle is not lost.

Rust, high fuel consumption

Of the "parquet" SUVs are probably the closest to a true SUV. Passable, dynamic, spacious enough car. It feels good both in the forest (at home) and in the city. If the tank is not empty and the battery is charged, it will ALWAYS ... Read full review

My 1998 was made in the USA. I am very happy with it. If you buy unraveled, unbroken, you can enjoy it for a long time. The equipment is not rich: air conditioner, e-mail, window regulators, e-mail?mirrors, central locking. The sa... Read full review

4x4, reliable, capacious, comfortable to drive.
Quality of interior materials.

The car is an all-terrain vehicle, many compare it to an SUV, but the Forester is just an all-terrain vehicle that can be boldly driven over halfway, score and other sticky roads that are truly insurmountable for a simple car. Don... Read full review

Very well managed car. Practical, perfect for both long trips and the countryside. Very reliable and durable. After all, it?s a car with SUV features, and it looks like a light car.
It is a pity that there is no diesel engine. A few small minuses, the interior is not very pleasant or high quality.

These days, you can buy a really good mini SUV, or a car with better maneuverability. What to choose??I suggest thinking about the Subaru Forester. First of all, because of the really serious permanent all-wheel drive system. The ... Read full review
