Toyota Land Cruiser, 2021 - present
The new J300 series Land Cruiser model was introduced in June 2021 and is manufactured on the TNGA-F platform. The frame itself has been modified to date to increase rigidity. The total weight of the huge SUV has been reduced by as much as 200 kg compared to its predecessor. Other benefits of the new platform include a lower center of gravity, more even weight distribution between the two axles and an improved suspension structure. The external dimensions include length, width and wheelbase, and the corners of the front and rear overhangs have remained the same as the previous model in order to maintain good passability. Toyota is no longer producing variants of this generation of V8 engines, with a 3.4-liter V35A-FTS V6 twin-turbocharged 305 kW (415 hp) and a diesel V6 3.3-liter F33A-FTV twin-turbocharged 2 out of 7 kW 309 AG). The 4.0-liter atmospheric V6 engine is borrowed from the previous model. For the first time in the Land Cruiser range, the sporty version of the GR Sport, which is 5mm shorter than the standard model, has a lockable front and rear differential than the standard, which only has a central locking differential. Also, the body manufacturing process of the GR Sport version uses more glued parts to increase the strength of the structure, and to save weight, the sporty Land Cruiser is also offered with a five-seater interior. By the way, Toyota has announced that the new J300 Series Land Cruiser will not be sold in the United States due to poor sales of its J200 series predecessor. With the exception of Lexus cars, the Sequoia is now becoming the flagship of Toyota’s SUV range in North America.
