One of the most exciting cars made by Toyota. The MR2 has two seats with a center-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive. This is a real mini supercar. The MR2 suspension was designed in conjunction with Lotus engineer Roger Becker. The second-generation MR2 became rounder, longer, wider, and heavier than its predecessor. The MR2 was surprisingly similar to the Ferrari models 348tb and F355, which is why the MR2 was sometimes referred to as the “poor Ferrari”. Many body parts have been produced specifically to mimic Ferrari cars. The results were sometimes staggering. The most powerful MR2 turbo engine 3S-GTE sold in Japan had 242 hp (180 kW) and was able to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 5.6 s. Toyota’s goal was to drive the MR2 like a supercar, but the MR2 was prone to excessive rear-slip turning, making it quite dangerous for an inexperienced driver to drive it. This flaw was later corrected. A limited series of TRD2000GT models was released, which had extended wings, a chassis and increased power. Some of these cars have been “pumped” up to 500HP! The car was very popular among real car enthusiasts. The most memorable features of the MR2 are dexterity, handling quality, comfortable and cramped seats. Disadvantages - cars tend to rust, water often drips through the removable roof.
