Opel's new and extremely exciting Cascada is going to offer luxury and exclusivity at a fairly affordable price in this relatively small segment of four-seater convertibles. This car in the Opel range stands between the Astra and Insignia models. The Cascada looks a bit strange in proportions - it is long and narrow, but the design looks really attractive, and not far from Opel's traditions of recent years. The new convertible looks really dynamic, far more attractive than the Opel Astra Convertible Astra TwinTop, but not as impressive as titled competitors such as the Audi A5. Compared to the Astra TwinTop, the Cascada body is 43% more resistant to torsion and 10% more flexible. This is especially important for a convertible, whose rigidity is important for both safety and comfort. Inside, the car meets a front panel full of various buttons - it looks a bit old-fashioned. Standard cabin materials are also not of the highest quality. On the road, the car follows the set trajectory surprisingly well - the steering works precisely, the grip on the road surface is excellent. At the same time, the Cascada is comfortable enough especially with the FlexRide system, which constantly adapts the car’s suspension to your driving preferences. The driver and passengers can enjoy the open air thanks to the soft fabric folding roof that folds in just 17 seconds. The roof can be folded even while driving - the mechanism works at speeds of up to 50 km / h. The sound in the cabin is really well insulated when driving with a covered roof, and when driving with an open roof, the effect of wind on the cabin is minimal. Most convertibles look good only with a folded roof, but the Cascada looks great and with a raised high-quality, areodynamic, soft fabric-free roof without any connecting threads. Although the convertible is a four-seater, it will not be very comfortable for people in the rear seats - the space is very limited on the roads and the heads can rest on the covered roof. The luggage compartment is decent at 380 liters, but drops to 280 if the roof is lowered. The rear seats can be folded in a 50:50 ratio to accommodate longer loads. Such features cannot be offered by convertibles with a hard folding roof. The Opel Cascada engine range starts with a 1.4-liter turbine engine. This engine is available in two different power modifications - 120 hp and 140 hp, both with the same torque - 220 Nm. This engine has an overboost booster system that can increase torque up to 380 Nm.
