The Alfa Romeo 166 is a prestigious car designed by Walter de'Silva and replacing the old Alfa Romeo 164. Although the 164 had an exceptional design, the new model also had something to boast about - the small front headlights of interesting shape and the traditional Alfa Romeo nose. The new design matched the new Alpha style introduced by the smaller 156 model. The front suspension uses a two-lever system, and the rear suspension is multi-lever. Although the car was praised for its excellent handling, dynamic engines, elegant design and excellent equipment, it did not become a serious competitor to the dominant German brands in this class.
