The Alfa Romeo GTV (Gran Turismo Veloce) and the Alfa Romeo Spider are one and the same car with two different bodies. The PTO is a 2 + 2 coupe and the Spider is a two-seater convertible. The PTO continues the tradition of the long-discontinued Alfetta GTV coupe, while the Spider has replaced the Giulia Spider, which has been in production for 30 years. Both cars were designed by Pininfarina and have typical Italian features - two round paired headlights, an Alfa Romeo triangular radiator grille, a sharp wedge-shaped edge with a full-length edge. The rear part is as if cut and completes the great silhouette of the Alfa Romeo. The car is very low, so getting in or out is just like a Ferrari: difficult. Spider and PTO are manufactured on a Fiat Type 2 platform. The most powerful engine is not a shame for the great design of the car - 3.2 V6 24V 240 hp (176.5 kW), capable of acceleration from 0-100 km / h in 6.3 seconds and is the fastest Alfa Romeo produced at that time. The Spider and PTO were updated in 1998. The biggest difference is visible on the front - now the grille is larger and goes almost to the bottom of the car, inside - the colors of the dashboard change from green to red. These PTOs and Spiders, like some enthusiasts, are the latest true Alfa Romeo models. The next models - 159, Brera, Spider are taller, bigger, V6 engines are started by GM, and Alfa Romeo designs only the engine heads.

Car description
Don’t get a wrong impression; this vehicle isn’t spoilt or very demanding. With Alfa Romeo gtv 2V6 Turbo (1996) it was a different case. It runs smoothly but the amount of fuel consumed is stunning 15-35 mpg (depending on the driving mode)! Now I’ve got 1996 Alfa gtv 2.0 L T.spark. Some Alfa owners complain about the engines saying they’re total crap, but once asked to explain the problems they shut their mouth. So I’ve got one too and I can tell there’s no prob with the engine as long as you don’t forget to change oil and check the oil level. Thanks to Italians, changing a generator belt is piece of cake. I had to change a gearbox too for the one my vehicle had was without a second gear. Getting in and out of this vehicle can be a bit problematic for the passengers but not for a driver :)
Performance
If you have a vehicle manufactured in 1995-1997 with a 2.0 L T.spark engine, then it’ll do fine. But if you’re looking for something much better I recommend you a 26-valve 3.0 litre V6. Once I had this Alfa – great pleasure to drive and the stability is very good too.
Reliability, running costs
It may take some time to find the right car parts, but it’s not a problem as long as you know where to get the original parts for a good price.
Recommendations to buyers
Probably you’ll just blow your money on a crap cause not that many good Alfas are left.
