Aston Martin DBS V12, 2007 - 2012
A real movie star! The Aston Martin company already used the DBS name for the 1967-72 GT class coupe. This DBS V12 replaces the company’s former flagship Vanquish S. The car’s power is generated by an impressive 5935cc V12 engine from the DBR9 race car, reaching 517 hp (380 kW) / 6500 rpm and 570 Nm / 5750 rpm torque. The car is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or a Touchtronic 6-speed automatic. The DBS is a double coupe as opposed to the DB9 model, which is a 2 + 2 coupe. The DBS has an aluminum chassis and is made of a lightweight magnesium, carbon fiber blend and aluminum. It is the first serial Aston Martin to feature carbon fiber parts and therefore weighs only 1,578 kg. The powerful car is capable of accelerating from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4 seconds and has a top speed of over 312 km / h. DBS has ceramic brake discs, the first of their kind in the Aston Martin. The front discs are 398 mm in diameter with 6 pistons, the rear are 360 mm in diameter with 4 pistons. The suspension uses adaptive shock absorbers that are adjustable and have up to 5 positions. Aston Martin DBS was featured in the famous James Bond film Casino Royale in 2006 and the 2008 bondiada film Quantum of Solace.
