The Audi 80 is a compact car with claims to luxury and has been produced in a sedan body since 1986. The car had an innovative rounded design at the time, and it was also the first mid-size car with a fully zinc-plated body. This gave the body durability and corrosion resistance. The car was manufactured with various 4- and 5-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. A more powerful and better equipped version of the Audi 90 was also produced, also featuring a powerful 5-cylinder 20-valve engine with 170 hp (130 kW), which evolved from the era of Audi turbo engines used in the legendary Audi Sport Quattro. The Audi 90 differs from the 80 with the continuous rear lights, headlights, slightly different bumpers with built-in fog lights and front grille.
The Audi 80 was the first mid-size car with a fully zinc-plated body. This gave the body durability and corrosion resistance. This protection was so effective that the company extended the body warranty from 10 to 12 years!
