Every car has its own loyal competitor - this time the new Audi A6 is set to remind the never-ending BMW 5 Series. The new design, excellent interior quality, and even better control - are the cannons of the Audi company that attack customers. The new A6 design is a consistent evolution of the previous model, so the car's silhouette has remained similar, yet the body details draw attention to themselves - dynamic lines, new-shaped sophisticated LED headlights, design integrity and overall balance are truly mesmerizing. The car is somewhat similar to the previously introduced Audi A7 and A8 models, but this is an advantage rather than a disadvantage. The body length of the new Audi A6 is 1.2 centimeters shorter than its predecessor, but the distance between the wheels is even 7 centimeters longer. As a result, visually, the car looks more dynamic, and we have increased space inside. To reduce the weight of the car, as much as 20 percent of the body parts are made of aluminum alloys. Considering the lower weight of the car, the improved air resistance coefficient, one can only believe that the car will become even more economical. Inside, the A6 boasts excellent quality and a fresh design - Audi has been a real example for all manufacturers, even BMW or Mercedes-Benz, for many years. The dashboard is truly attractive, ergonomic, and the reduced number of buttons provides more subtlety and luxury. The night vision system, which can be ordered at an additional cost, is interesting not only because it allows you to see up to 300 meters ahead thanks to infrared light, but also highlights heat-emitting objects (people or animals) on the road at a distance of about 100 meters. These objects are defined on the screen by a yellow rectangle and an audible warning is issued. As we mentioned, the new A6 gives more space for all passengers (both feet and head) compared to its predecessor. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 530 liters (with a station wagon as much as 1680 liters), which is the middle ground between the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Traditionally, Audi has followed the same middle ground when it comes to the car's driving characteristics - the A6 is not as comfortable as the E-Class and not as sporty as the BMW 5 Series or Jaguar XF. The steering wheel of the car is a bit too "light" and the driver may feel a little detached from the road in sharp turns. But thanks to the fact that the car is lighter not only than its predecessor, but also from its competitors, the A6 is easy to operate without feeling bulky and gives the impression that you are driving a much smaller car. Depending on the driving style, the steering sensitivity, suspension hardness, accelerator response to pedaling and other parameters can be adjusted. The intelligent navigation system of the Audi A6 is linked to the control of the car itself. It constantly receives signals from GPS satellites about the speed and position of the machine and the sharpness of the turn ahead. The machine's electronic brain calculates these and other factors and decides for itself which gear to engage for optimum speed and fuel consumption. If the turn is sharp, Audi automatically switches the high beam to low beam so as not to dazzle the driver of the car coming from the front. The new A6 makes its debut with five engines - three diesel and two petrol. The most economical is the 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Its average fuel consumption should be about 5 liters per hundred kilometers. The other two diesels have a 3.0-liter capacity with two different outputs - one 204 hp, the other 245 hp. Don’t forget the petrol engines either - the 3.0-liter TFSI engine with compressor has 300 hp and the declared average economy is quite impressive at 8.5 liters per 100 kilometers. Another petrol engine is 204 hp 2.8 liter atmospheric. According to the manufacturer, all engines are on average as much as 19 percent. more economical. The manufacturer will soon be offering a hybrid version of the Audi A6.
