The Audi A8 is a high-end luxury sedan that has replaced the Audi V8 model. Most A8 versions have an all-wheel drive quattro system, as well as Multitronic or Tiptronic gearboxes. The A8 debuted on the new Volkswagen Group D2 platform with an all-aluminum body called the Audi Spatial Frame, which helped significantly reduce weight without sacrificing the car's strength. It was the first fully aluminum car in the world, and it was the first car to have six airbags. The most powerful version has a 4.2 L V8 engine with 310 hp (230 kW). The A8 has the power of standard equipment, dual climate control, power seats, BOSE sound system, the interior is rich in wood and leather. An extremely rare version with a compact but high-displacement 6.0 L W12 engine has also been produced (these are basically two connected 3.0 L VR6 engines). Only 750 units were produced for the W12 models.
