Audi Cabriolet, 2005 - 2008
At the end of 2004, a new A4 was introduced on the same B6 (PL46) platform with sedan, station wagon and convertible bodies. Both the chassis, suspension and engines have been upgraded. The car has an electro-hydraulic roof system that can lower the roof in 30 seconds. The convertible differs from the simple version by a silver front strut and a slightly different instrument panel. Innovative FSI engines with 2.0 L TFSI and 3.2 L V6 FSI liters and power of 200 and 255 hp (147 and 188 kW), respectively, were introduced. Both of these engines have four valves per cylinder because the previous 5-valve design was incompatible with the FSI injection system. The convertible was unfortunately not produced with a Multitronic gearbox, but the 6-speed Tiptronic was combined with an all-wheel drive quattro system. While the car isn’t as fast or well-controlled as the BMW 3 Series, Audi can certainly boast of standard equipment, maneuverability, comfortable driving, powerful engines and a clear quattro system. There are really few negative comments - a lack of space on the back seat and the so-called turbo-engine turbolaga.
