The Audi Coupe (B2, Typ 81/85) Kogero will be remembered forever as a legendary Group B rally car. True, the rally arenas were not dominated by the Coupe, but the innovative Audi Quattro model was the first of all the rally cars of the time to be powered by all four wheels. Four-wheel drive, turbo engines reaching 600 hp in some cases - this winning formula was soon adapted to other no less insane cars - the Lancia Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16 and Ford Escort RS200. These were exceptional cars, but other buyers could also feel the spirit of the time by purchasing a more modest Audi Coupe model, which was produced with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. This great car was produced from 1980 to 1988 with a series of engines. The most modest version had a completely unsportsmanlike 1.6-liter YN 75 hp (55 kW) engine, more powerful 1.8, 1.9-liter carburetor engines, and 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 and later 2.3 liter engines with fuel injection. The latter had a rather rare 5-cylinder configuration and were also composed with the Quattro system.
