The Audi Coupe was refurbished in 1992. The front grille was connected to the hood and acquired Audi’s characteristic aggressive front look. It was basically the same B4 sedan with a shortened wheelbase and a replaced rear end. The coupe / convertible models belonged to the Grand Tourism style - a comfortable luxury car with a sporty character, but the car was really not light (especially with a 2.3 L 20V engine) unlike many other light sports cars. These models differed from the usual 80/90 models in that they were made much more often with a leather interior, wood inserts, additional gauge sensors at the bottom of the center console, and a button that locks the rear differential. The cars were produced with 2.3-liter 5-cylinder, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and 2.6, 2.8-liter V6 engines. The cars could also be produced with a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. The coupe model was removed from production in 1995/96, and the convertible was manufactured as early as 2000. Later, both the coupe and the convertible were replaced by a small Audi TT coupe and roadster.
