The Audi S4 is a sports car made with sedan, station wagon and convertible bodies. Like all Audi S cars, the S4 is produced with a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. The S4 has a larger, more powerful engine and larger brakes than any other model in the A4 range. The biggest innovation of the third-generation S4 is the 4.2 L V8 engine, which replaced the previous 2.7 L twin-turbine V6 engine. The new unit is all aluminum with 40 valves and two DOHC heads borrowed from the Audi A8 model. It has 253 kW (344 hp) / 7000 rpm and 410 Nm / 3500 rpm of torque and is more powerful than the RS2 and almost as powerful as the B5 RS4 model. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. Official data: The sedan reaches a speed of 0-100 km / h in 5.6 seconds (station wagon in 5.8 s, convertible in 5.9 s), but tests conducted by American magazines have shown that the car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds. The S4 brake system uses cooled disc brakes (345 mm in diameter and 30 mm wide) and rear (302 mm in diameter and 20 mm wide). The car differs from the usual A4 with a lower suspension, aluminum side mirrors and S4 badges. Inside are electrically operated Recaro seats, carbon fiber inserts and again many S4 emblems.
