The new BMW Second Series was introduced to replace the 1 Series Coupé and Convertible, and to compete with the Audi A3 sedan and Mercedes-Benz CLA. Competitors should include cars such as the Audi TT, Volkswagen Scirocco and Toyota GT 86. The BMW 2 Series is built on the extended base of the Series 1 and surpasses it in all directions - the Series 2 is 72 mm longer and 32 mm wider than the "first", and the distance increased by 30 mm between the axles. The front and rear tracks are widened by 41 and 43 millimeters, respectively. The new model has narrow headlights on the front - completely different from the 1 series, the rear part is very similar to the part of the predecessor 1 series sedan. The appearance to be recognized is modest. Inside, the BMW 2 Series is greeted by a soft plastic trim (at least in the front of the cabin) and a typical BMW style. The best features of the car are revealed on the road - the chassis is perfectly matched, the rear wheels have excellent grip. Driving this BMW is a pure pleasure - you can drive both comfortably and have fun in cornering. When looking for a car with impeccable handling, by no means miss this seemingly modest car. The base petrol BMW 220i has 2.0-liter turbocharged engines that generate 181 hp and 270 Nm. With standard manual 6-speed transmission up to 100 km / h. they accelerate in 7.0 seconds and average fuel consumption is just 6.3 l / 100 km. The most powerful version of the M235i has a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbo engine with 322 hp. Among the disadvantages - the rear seats are designed for only two passengers, who are really unfamiliar with the space, and to get on them will also require some such acrobatic skills.

This car does not have EuroNCAP safety rating.
