Although BMW is one of the first to start producing electric cars, it is a bit late with the electric SUV - we already have Tesla Model X, Jaguar I-Pace, Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC models on the market. True, BMW has been selling the electric BMW iX3 for some time, but this one is not designed as an electric car. So, the electric BMW SUV welcomes us with an interesting design. "Interesting design" - the BMW iX doesn't sound like a compliment. You won't call the car's design attractive, nor will you call it a typical BMW style. Of course, on closer inspection, you can find common design themes with the small BMW i3 electric car, but the cook will agree that the i3 looks cooler than the iX. The large grille of the SUV "radiator", the brightly profiled hood looks small at least not refined, at worst in the worst case. Of course, behind the front grille there is a power of various sensors - the coger is so big ... The rear part has a style that is a bit more suitable for a premium class car, but you won't call it cool either. And the blue body inserts of the cogero, which mean "electricity", also do not add anything beautiful or solid. Similarly, BMW is still looking for an exclusive style for its electric cars, which has already been discovered by both VW and Mercedes-Benz and, in our view, very well discovered by Audi. Interestingly, the designers refused to lift the front cover, arguing that there was no reason to open it - the car window washer tank can be filled by opening the BMW badge on the front. However, at the same time, no space is left in the front of the car for an additional luggage compartment. Surprisingly, the angled BMW iX is extremely aerodynamic, with a drag coefficient of just 0.25. Who doesn't know if it's a lot - let's just say that the BMW iX is aerodynamic for plus minus all cars ... Just for everyone. The BMW iX has two electric motors - on the front and rear axles. The units fitted to the BMW iX xDrive50 develop a total power of 370 kW / 500 hp and the car from 0 to 100 km / h. accelerates in 5 seconds - much like the BMW M3! The engines in the BMW iX xDrive40 have a total output of 240 kW / 300 hp and 100 km / h. speed develops in 6 seconds. In both models, BMW installs fifth-generation lithium-ion batteries with higher energy storage densities. The xDrive50 model is equipped with a large battery with a capacity of over 100 kWh, which, according to the manufacturer, allows to cover a distance of up to 600 km (according to WTPL) on a single charge. The cheaper xDrive40 has a 70 kWh battery, which allows you to drive a little over 400 km (according to WTPL). In the salon we see a unique style dashboard. Do we like him? Oh yes, even very much! Minimalist style, asymmetrical shapes, atypical seat patterns and a focus on a few high-quality materials - it all looks just amazing. Of course, the focus is on the large curved LCD screen, but even more interesting is the hexagonal steering wheel, or the minimalist door design which is very similar to the well-known BMW 5 Series E60, with transparent controls in the center console and a great sense of space. In this sense, the BMW iX is much more interesting than the Audi e-tron SUVs, which develop the same interior style line as the models with internal combustion engines. So, the design and style of the BMW iX electric car may or may not be to your liking, but we won’t really deprive it of a powerful electric powerplant, a capacious battery and a solid mileage with a single charge.
