BMW 6 Series, 2003 - 2010
The BMW 6 Series luxury coupe or convertible is based on the BMW 5 Series. The car came with several engines - a 3-liter 6-cylinder and a 5-liter V10, and the most powerful engine (excluding the M6 variant) is the 4.8-liter V8 with 360 hp. The old BMW 6 Series was replaced in 1989 by the more luxurious 8 Series, but in 2003 the 6 Series returned. The car has less rear space than the 5 Series, but with much more dynamic lines. It is generally agreed that the coupe and convertible are more pleasing to the eye than the 5 and 7 series models, although on closer inspection all of these models have many similar design elements (e.g. rear end). The 6 Series really stands out from its competitors - the car's design is reminiscent of a shark and gives it a sense of strength and respect. The style of the car is assessed ambiguously, but in any case it is not boring. The car is designed to compete on price with the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, Aston Martin, Maserati and the like. The BMW 6 receives excellent marks for elegance, good handling, solid comfort and a powerful image. Cons - iDrive is still difficult to use.
