The style of the new M3 is completely new - an interesting design, a new engine, a new transmission, interior, suspension and many new technologies (such as electricity generated during braking). Aluminum and carbon fiber are used extensively in car assemblies (e.g., a carbon fiber roof to keep the weight as low as possible and the center of gravity as low as possible). The fourth-generation BMW M3 was introduced in 2007 for the first time with a V8 engine that is even lighter than the previous linear 6-cylinder. It is a high-speed atmospheric 4-liter engine with 420 hp (309 kW) / 8300 rpm and a maximum torque of 400 Nm / 3900 rpm. Power has increased by 22% compared to the older model, and the engine weighs 15 kg less, for a total of 202 kg. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but a dual-clutch transmission named M-DCT (Double Clutch Transmission) has also been offered since 2008. This box enables the rails to shift a tenth of a second faster and reduces the car's acceleration to 0-100 km / h in 0.2 seconds. The M3 is also available with a 4-door sedan body, the entire front of which is the same as the coupe model, but without a carbon-fiber roof. Coupe version data: 0-100 km / h in 4.6 seconds, top speed 320 km / h.
