The new-generation BMW X5 became 5mm wider, 26mm longer and 14mm lower than the E70, leaving the wheelbase at the same 2933mm. Despite the car’s massiveness, it has become lighter than its predecessor. In terms of design, the new model has remained very similar to its predecessor especially in its rear end. Yes, the SUV has become even bigger, more angular, and the front has become similar to the much earlier BMW 3 Series, but the overall impression is that it is sometimes possible to mix the last two generations of the BMW X5 models. The story in the interior is the same - the company stuck to the design, which was appreciated by customers. Of course, the materials used are only of the highest quality. It is worth noting the extremely comfortable front seats, which can be adjusted in maybe twenty different directions. By the way, the rear seats can also be adjusted comfortably, and there will definitely be enough space for tall passengers. In the new model, the tailgate consists of several parts, which allows you to close only the upper part and leave the lower part open, which allows you to transport protruding extra long loads. The BMW X5 behaves as expected on the road, but the suspension has become softer, more comfortable. True, choosing the most sporty suspension mode will give you the good old sporty stability of the BMW. The steering has become a little less sensitive and doesn’t allow you to feel the road as much as some other sporty SUVs. But don't be fooled - it has absolutely no effect on the X5's extremely obedient behavior on the road, even on winding mountain roads.
