The Camaro is built on the GM Zeta platform for rear-wheel drive cars, which it will share with the Pontiac G8 and Vauxhall VXR8. The car has an independent rear suspension and is equipped with V6 and V8 engines, and will be available with automatic and mechanical transmission. This muscle car really has the spirit of the 1969 model - aggressive stand-out design, large rear wheel arches and other details go well with modern elements. Chevrolet claims the car’s design was inspired by the F22 jet fighter. The body was designed in the US, but the technical part has a lot in common with the Australian Vauxhall VXR8. The car has an advanced multi-lever suspension and the most powerful even 6.2-liter V8 engine, the same as the Corvette. This 426 hp engine enables a heavy car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds. Inside, the interior design echoes the exterior style - a mix of the 60s and modernity. Despite the obvious use of cheap and hard plastics, the instrument panel looks quite original, but it is not very comfortable - the steering wheel is quite large and the head of taller drivers rests on the sunroof. The V8 makes a muffled and solid sound, but the Camaro doesn't look as fast as it does on paper, partly because the car weighs as much as 1,746kg, partly because the engine has to be spun to high revs, partly because the Camaro's suspension is surprisingly soft and the car tends to tilt a lot in sharper turns, and the “lightweight” steering wheel also doesn’t give the sportiness for which the car was designed.
