In 1999, DaimlerChrysler revived the 300 name. This time it was a front-wheel drive, V6-powered car on a Chrysler LH platform. The 300M was a luxury car and was sold alongside the LHS as one of Chrysler’s flagships. The 300 had a lot of comfort equipment - it's leather interior, heated seats, on-board computer, etc. The 300M was rated for convenience and dynamism. The car combines sportiness and luxury, but for many these qualities have been overshadowed by poor quality and reliability. Electrical equipment failures (power windows, panel lighting) were the main problems. The 300 had only one engine - a 3.5l V6 designed by Chrysler and shared with the Plymouth Prowler. It had 253 horsepower (189 kW) and 346 Nm of torque. Motor Trend magazine recognized the 300M as the 1999 car of the year.
